David Garrett

Entah kenapa akhir-akhir ini selera musik ku berubah
Bukan, bukan jadi K-Pop lovers...
Bukan juga jadi penggila Dangdut ato lagu-lagu Melayu!
But,
Tiba-tiba aja aku jadi suka dengerin musik klasik.!

Wah, wah, wah
Sok borju banget ya?
Hahah

Tapi sebenernya, aku cuma suka sama satu orang aja,
Namanya DAVID GARRETT...
Wuahhhh,

>.<

Sok we atuh di baca review saya
:)
David was born in Aachen on 4th september 1980 of American mother and German father. His father, large amateur of violin and string instruments antique dealer, often received at home experienced violinists.
When David was four, his father brought back a violin to his older brother. The little David, already an hot-headed temper, wanted to do the same and he insisted very much to playing too. His ability and his interest to play caused the admiration of all his entourage.
At the age of 5, he toke part in a competition and succeeded it with awards. He was 7 and he played already in public once a week. At the age of 9, he played a Mozart Concert with Orchestra. At the age of 10, as a child prodigy, he made his public début, using the surname of his mother, giving his first Concert “Zigeunerweissen” by Pablo de Sarasate, with the conductor Gerd Albrecht and the Hambourg Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 12, he began working with the great polish violinist Ida Haendall, often travelling to London and the other european cities, and even to Miami to meet her. The sensible advice of the great Lady were precious for the future musical development of David. At the age of 13, he had already recorded two CDs and appeared on German and Dutch television.
At the age of 14, as the youngest soloist ever, he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Between the ages of 10 and 15, he had a private schooling. He had no contact with children of his age. At this time, he didn’t think that it was out of the ordinary because he knew nothing else. At the age of 17, he played with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Mehta in Delhi and Bombay with regard to the fiftieth anniversary of India’s Independence. At the age of 19, he played with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchster under the direction of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos in Berlin and was unanimously celebrated by the critics. Then, David was invited to perform at the Expo 2000 in Hannover. After a bad experience at the Royal College of Music in London, he realized that his chilhood had been quite odd. He was his violin's slave, and at the time it was his only friend. He then started to discover the real life and wanted to catch up lost time, by enjoying life.

At the age of 21, he was invited to perform at the "Night of the Proms ”. It was very exciting to play as a “PopStar” in front of 600 000 people in just two months. He met a lot of young people, “wonderful people” he said. He never will forget that. As he was charismatic and sociable, he fascined and had a big success with girls. In the same way, he is very interested by this idea to bring young people to the classical music.
He moved to New York and entered at the Juilliard School as one of the first students to study with Itzhak Perlman. In the same time, he will supplement his income by working as a model. The experience of working with Perlman has helped him indentify himself as a musician, to develop his musical voice and to prepare himself for a life of music. He graduated from the Juilliard School with many awards in 2004. He left New York and his close friends with regret to come back in Germany and perform in Europe.

In recent years, David performed all over the world such as in Europe (Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland etc...), America (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, United States etc...), and Asia (Korea, Israel, Japan etc...).
Stylistically flexible, he developed a versatile repertoire from Bach and Mozart, including the great classical violin concerts of Beethoven, Brahms, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky and the rarely played violin concerts by Conus, Schumann and Dvorák up to the virtuosic pieces by Waxman, Ravel and Saint-Saëns, commending him worldwide as an exceptional soloist with infatuatingly pure sounds and youthful spirit.
Developing young people’s enthusiasm for classical concerts is close to David Garrett’s heart. As a result, he decided in spite of considerable opposition to record a crossover album with various arrangements and his own compositions of pieces and melodies that he has been involved with time and again in his life up to this point.
